ACADEMICS

High Sierra Academy provides a full-time, college-preparatory secondary-school program for students in grades 9 through 12. Our academic program is designed for motivated student-athletes who require a rigorous education while also dedicating significant time to training, competition, travel, and long-term athletic development

College-Preparatory Curriculum

Students complete coursework in English, mathematics, laboratory science, social science, world language, visual arts, and electives. Course offerings may include Algebra I through Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, World History, United States History, Government, Economics, Spanish, Digital Media Arts, Photography, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, and Senior Capstone.

Small classes allow teachers to provide differentiated instruction, close academic support, and timely feedback. Students receive academic advising, structured study support, and regular progress monitoring. STAR assessments are used during the school year to help evaluate academic growth and guide instructional decisions.

High Sierra Academy maintains official academic records, issues grades and transcripts, establishes graduation requirements, and provides a complete secondary-school instructional program leading toward a High Sierra Academy diploma.

The school is actively working toward accreditation (expected September 2026) and is developing its courses to align, where appropriate, with NCAA initial-eligibility expectations and University of California A–G subject requirements.
